Questions specific to parents
How long are QR codes valid?
Two months. The exact expiration date can be found under the QR code.

Can both parents authenticate themselves with the same QR code?
Yes. You can create app accounts with different email addresses, but scan the same QR code.

Can other family members (e. g. grandma), other guardians or a babysitter scan the QR code?
Yes, but be careful: Dimmi allows the person in charge to write to the parents of an individual child. These messages may contain private information that is not intended for everyone. (Even in the family circle)

Can parents register more than one child?
Yes. One QR code is given for each child. Messages can be filtered by class, groups or child. On the first login, the “Authenticate” screen is automatically displayed, and later this can be accessed via the “Authenticate” item in the menu.

Questions specific to teachers
Can several teachers register in a class?
Oh, yes. Anyone in the group can send messages and also receive messages from colleagues. In order to do this, both persons must be registered on the website as the person in charge of the group, and each teacher must log in individually and scan his code. (Please do not scan a colleague’s QR code, otherwise messages will be sent under a false name. )

Can additional teachers who have individual hours in the class (e. g. special classes, “surnuméraires”... ) also use Dimmi?
Theoretically, yes. However, they would have to be registered separately in each class (as a regular member to receive messages, or as an instructor to send messages), and they would have to scan a QR code for each class. You would then receive all the messages for each class.

Can a teacher be enrolled in several classes?
Yes, but for each class a QR code must be scanned.

If you re-generate the QR codes for the parents (e. g. because a student joined, someone lost their code... ), do the old codes lose their validity?
Generating the new QR codes invalidates the old ones, but does not affect the accounts that have already scanned the code.

Can a message be changed/deleted afterwards?
Modifying the message is not possible, yet deleting is. However, the message is only deleted in the app. As soon as it has been sent, it remains in the notifications center.

What happens at the end of the school year?
Like every year, the student accounts on your website are removed from the groups and put inactive. (This usually happens in early August, unless the school asks otherwise). In the Dimmi app, the parents of the respective groups are also disabled. Even if the teacher keeps the class, the teacher has to pull the students back into the group and give the QR codes to the parents.
